Over 300.000 Polish n subscribers
"n", the youngest Polish digital platform, already had over 300,000 subscribers in the end of the first quarter of 2008. That information has been published in the ITI Group's report for 2007. It proves that many new subscribers join "n" platform on a regular basis and their numer is constantly increasing. ››
Cyfra+ after the transponder changes
Polish digital platform Cyfra+, in accordance with SATKurier.pl announcements, has introduced many changes on its transponders in the night of 7th April 2008. Changes concerned Hot Bird 8 (13E) transponders. This is the list of all changes, with specific technical parameters, for viewers who are not using platform's terminals. ››
TVP Sport in HD?
TVP, Polish public bradcaster, announced that its first HD channel TVP Sport HD will debut this summer and will operate separetly from TVP Sport, current sports channel. TVP Sport HD probably will be broadcast only in DVB-T test's transmitters. ››
Euro 2008 in HD on NTV Plus
Russian digital platform NTV Plus (Eutelsat W4 - 36°E and Bonum 1 - 56°E) has gained broadcasting rights to present football championships Euro 2008 in HD. The event will be transmitted on HD Sport. Polsat Sport HD will broadcast the event in Poland. ››
Discovery package only on Cyfra+ transponder
On 13th of November 2008 transmission of Discovery package (Science, Travel & Living and World) on Hot Bird 6 (13E) satellite has been stopped. Channels were available on GlobeCast UK frequency - 11,117GHz, pol. V, SR 27500, FEC 3/4 (it is possible that BBC HD Poland will appear here in December 2008). This situation is caused by the transfer of three Discovery channels to Hot Bird 7A (13E) satellite to the new Cyfra+ transponder - 10,795GHz, pol. V, SR 27500, FEC 3/4. more ››
Cyfra+ with VOD in December
Video-on-demand in Cyfra+ is slowly becoming a reality. The first movies in platform's new offer will appear in December 2008. All VOD movies will cost 2 PLN and will be available to Cyfra+ subscribers for two days. more ››
TVN Lingua and religia.tv in Cyfra+ from 15th October
On 15th of October 2008 two new channels produced by the ITI Group will join to the offer of Cyfra+. First channel is TVN Lingua, devoted to learning English. Second one is a religious channel religia.tv that was launched on 15th of October 2007. more ››
Patio TV officially in Cyfra+
Patio TV, a new Polish channel for young people, has been oficially added to Cyfra+ offer. Station can be found on channel 113 in Cyfra+ EPG. Patio TV is available for Cyfra+ subscribers since the start of its official transmission. more ››
Domo launches on 20th of September
Domo.tv, a new channel dedicated to building, constructing, renovating, interior arrangement and architecture as well as designing and nurturing the greenery, launches on 20th of September. Station will broadcast in hours 7:00-01:00. more ››
Zone Romantica in Cyfra+ on 8th of September
On 8th of September a new channel will appear in Cyfra+ offer - Zone Romantica. It will be available on channel 52 in Podstawowy, Tematyczny, Komfortowy and Presti?owy package which means that it's going to reach to over one million subscribers. more ››
MTVNHD in Cyfra+
A new high definition channel MTVNHD launches on 15th of September. It will be seventh HD station in the offer of Cyfra+ platform and the first international HD music channel. Canal+ Cyfrowy, in cooperation with MTV Poland, is responsible for preparing the play-out of this new channel, which will be distributed in selected countries in Europe and Latin America. more ››
New Cyfra+ cards since 18th of September
18th of September 2008 is the date when Cyfra+ officially introduces new smart cards for its new subscribers. As of September 18th distributors will be giving only new cards. Clients who order Cyfra+ before that date will still receive old cards, but later they are going to be exchanged for the new ones. more ››
Canal+ in 16/9 format since 1st of Septmeber
From the 1st of September CANAL+ will broadcast all programs in 16/9 picture format. Viewers will be able to watch, among others, such a hits in 16/9 as: "Live Free or Die Hard" (14.09), "Katyn" (21.09) and "Shrek the Third" (28.09). Speedway's Polish Grand Prix (13.09) should be an attraction for sports fans. more ››
Cyfra+ introduces new encoding system
Cyfra+ has began introducing a new encoding system for cards sent to a cable networks. There's a new ProvID 0068 on some of the channels (so far Seca 2 was identified as 0065). Subscribers will get new smart cards and instructions with the September's issue of Magazyn Plus+. more ››
