Within the next few months Aster cable network will expand its digital TV service by the addition of video-on-demand (VOD). Thus, the operator will be ahead of its biggest competitor in Warsaw and Krakow - UPC Polska. Aster, however, has still not paid its obligations of 1.6 billion PLN.

UPC Polska plans to introduce the VOD service in the second half of 2009 while Aster should do it in the first months of 2009. Multimedia Polska cable subscribers have the access to video-on-demand for quite a long time now.
